Harmony Day

A Journey of Teamwork, and Celebration

Every great event comes with its own set of challenges, and this year's Harmony Day was no exception. As we set out to create a warm, welcoming space filled with colour and joy, we quickly found ourselves in a bit of a situation as our decorations, which we had spent hours putting up, kept falling off the walls.

Luckily, we had some fantastic help. Parisa HR, and Bailey one of our Case Manager helped me in putting up the fallen decorations and made the venue look welcoming. Once that was done, we waited for our participants and support workers to arrive and prepared some snacks and drinks in advance.

Once everyone gathered, we played music, and the venue began to look as festive as I had imagined. Smell of delicious aroma of sausages and charred veggies filled the air, and everyone gathered around the BBQ, plates in hand, eager to taste Bailey’s BBQ.

After a delicious feast, we kicked off the activities with a game of Bingo which was a crowd favorite. Laughter, cheers, and playful competition filled the space, creating a sense of togetherness that was perfect for the day’s theme.

But Harmony Day isn’t just about fun and games; it’s a time to reflect on the importance of inclusion, respect, and community. After Bingo, we gathered for a heartfelt conversation about the meaning behind the day. We shared stories, discussed what harmony means to each of us, and recognised the beauty in our diversity.

It was a special moment, one that reminded us all why we come together—not just for events like these, but every day as a community.

In the end, Harmony Day turned out to be a beautiful celebration. It was a reminder that even when things don’t go as planned, with a little teamwork, determination, and a lot of heart, we can create something truly special. We’re so grateful to Parisa, Bailey, and everyone who pitched in to make the day a success!
